To fill an Easter basket-
To get as many eggs as one can get.
.
The beeping eggs guide the way-
To stay on path, to limit the stray.
.
To hear a beep, and then head over there-
This event was put on by loving folks who care.
.
For I cannot see, but, I can hear the sound-
Many, many eggs, will be heard and found.
.
My basket is heavy, as I walk away-
I’m just a child enjoying a glorious day.
.
To fill an Easter basket-
To get as many eggs as one can get.

The giving of apples
begins to roll- As their sales began
to rise, and unfold.
. Of course, apples are
always a best seller-
For their reputation, as
healthy are stellar.
.
But, when school begins, their sales tend to rise-
The giving to teachers,
as a tradition, is what
we can summize.
.
Every teacher looks best-
With a bright shiny apple
on her desk.
.
The giving of apples
begins to roll-
As their sales began
to rise, and unfold.

I’ll have to admit that I am no Betty Crocker. I love to eat, but when it comes to spending a lot of time, in the kitchen, well that is a different story.
.
I had a grandmother that cook like a dream. Her fried eggs tasted so much the better than mine. Her gravy was darker than mine, and her roasts were much more tender than mine.
.
Of course, in her younger life she and her first husband had a restaurant. If she didn’t cook well then, I’m sure that years of commercial cooking experience perfected it.
.
She also came from a large family, and there had to be a lot of cooking going on, in order to feed many mouths.
.
I think that Hamburger Helper helped me along the way. Quick and easy. Back in the day, hamburger meat was cheap. Today, I cringe when I look at the prices.
.
Cooking is very important to many people, especially the Thursday Afternoon Cooking Club in Wichita, Kansas. They have been meeting for 124 years. The members take turns cooking and showing off their best china. They are devoted to the exchange of ideas in cooking domestic and science.
.
It is said that they are a live version of a community cookbook. They simply want to honor practical cooking.
.
I’m glad that other people enjoy cooking. As for myself, well I do what I have to get by. So glad that the husband enjoys cooking. Sandwiches can become weary.
.
By the way, Wichita, Kansas is also the town where Pizza Hut was born. Back in 1958 Frank and Dan Carney must have decided that some might like a break in all of that home cooking. And obviously they were right.
“As best as I am able-
To enjoy sitting and eating at someone else’s dinner table.”

When I first awake, alone, the first thing that I want to see-
Is a huge brewed cup, of coffee.
.
But, when the Groundhog first opens his eyes-
He has the world watching him, for that one big surprise.
.
To see his shadow, or not to see his shadow-
Yes, we all seriously want to know.
.
For if he sees his shadow, winter will be extra long-
Like two winters, for sure, with bad weather strong.
.
Back into his hole is where he will reside-
To be comfortable, to endure the rest of the winter ride.
.
But, if he happens not to see it, then spring is on the way-
Out of his hole, he comes, to simply enjoy the entire day.
.
To the present location of Gobbler’s Knob, derived from
an old European custom, that involved the blessing of
candles and such-
Punxsutawney Phil, will bring delight with his actions,
with his foresight, and with his special touch.
.
When I first awake, alone, the first thing that I want to see-
Is a huge brewed cup, of coffee.

From tradition, I think that Mondays are nice-
For we always put on a pot of red beans, to add to the rice.
