To better sleep-
Knowing that outside, on the porch,
there is less creep.

We were worn-
After the baby was born.
.
And, the leisure sleep went away-
For the baby awoke, both night and day.
.
To be fed, to be changed, and to be rocked-
Had we known, our past sleep time, we might have stocked.
.
But, through it all we figured it was best-
Later, in life, there will be plenty, of time, to rest.
.
We were worn-
After the baby was born

It was cold outside, but I had to go-
For the fullness had built up, and would continue to grow.
.
To uncover and get out of my comfortable bed-
With a mission, to go into the cold, up ahead.
.
My destination was not that far away-
For I had taken it many a night and a day.
.
The door stuck a little, but it was finally open-
I knew all was okay, as I had done this over and over again.
.
As I sat down, it was indeed cold-
As my business began to unfold.
.
The catalog came in handy to both use and read-
A little bit of heat, was still much in need.
.
When the event was over, I headed back to my warm bed,
to get some sleep-
To no longer think of that outhouse, in which earlier, I had
to creep.
.
It was cold outside, but I had to go-
For the fullness had built up, and would continue to grow.

I was filled with doom-
Because there was a fly in the room.
.
I was getting ready to fall asleep-
And, into my life the fly did creep.
.
I put my head under the cover-
But, I could still hear it buzzing, it
was in full hover.
.
I could have gotten up, to give it a swat-
But, any strength left, I had not.
.
So, the fly won, and I finally went to sleep-
No more for me, from the fly, not even a peep.
.
I was filled with doom-
Because there was a fly in the room.

1. Wait on the ice man, to come up our street, to fill the icebox.
2. Wait on the porch, at night, for the bedroom to cool off, so
that we could go to sleep.
3. Give birth at home.
==================================================
We did until-
We had access to a hospital.
