Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 840 (The Yellow School Bus)

Here it comes, and my it is yellow-

Mama said it would be, and she should know.

.

For it just happens to be the case-

That one day, a while back, she was in my place.

.

A little girl, waiting at the stop-

Holding her mother’s hand, not to drop.

.

The first day of school shared by many

a generation-

Waiting for that yellow school bus is

a tender sensation.

Here it comes, and my it is yellow-

Mama said it would be, and she should know.

With the idea, that today, there is no school bus, to be found.

For there is a school bus waiting, with a task on hand.

Here comes my pet  as soon as I get off that yellow bus-

With a wagging tail, and lots of happy fuss.

To take a walk down the street-

To step, on the school bus, to find a seat.

For the rest of the week, we’ll hop-

Like rabbits, down to the school bus stop.
