Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 399

T hanksgiving dinner-
Has always been a winner.
A whole array of foods to eat.
No, picking at the deviled eggs, before taking your seat.
Knowing that you’ll be full, before you get up from the table-
Surely, knowing that you’ll eat more than you thought able.
Giving thanks is what this day is really all about-
Indians and Pilgrims, sharing a meal, without a doubt.
Voices, chattering, in a serene atmosphere, showered in corn and turkey.
Ingesting pumpkin pie and dressing, that there just had to be.
Not exactly like the modern day of course-
Genuine, though, and more bland, must have been in full force.

.

Delicious cranberries on the side-
Interesting conversation, both true and tried.
Now if only we could go back to the very first one-
Not only to taste, but to join in the activities that were done.
Every time we sit down at the Thanksgiving dinner-
Relatives and special foods, make it a yearly winner.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose (The Christmas Card List)

The Christmas card list-
The names that cannot be missed.
.

.
The friends from childhood-
So much out they stood.
.
.
The Grandmother and Grandfather,
Who stood by you, like no other.
.

.
The friends from high school-
Yes, they still rule.
.

.
The whole family, both Father
and Mother-
And, of course, the sister, and
brother.
.

.
The Aunts and Uncles that live
far away-
The cousins, that live nearby,
that will always stay.
.

.
And to set the tone-
The friends, that one has
met since they have grown.
.

.
There are those in Heaven who
cannot receive one-
And, of course, that is where
much prayer doing is done.
