Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 404 (Gonna Buy That Turkey)

Betty hasn’t bought her turkey yet-
But, will before long, for it is a sure bet.

She’ll pick out a huge one, for that is
what she tends to need-
For her family is big, and she has plenty
to feed.
.
She’ll first have to let it thaw, for a few days-
For she has bought a frozen one, unlike
back in the old days.

Where the folks would go hunting, and bring
one back-
If they didn’t do that, then one turkey, from
the table, is what they would lack.
.
Getting back to Betty, after the thaw, she’ll
prepare her turkey well-
Stuffing it  with all kinds of things that have
a good smell.
.
And, then into the oven, it will go-
Many, many, hours, with that aroma,
in a continual grow.
.
So nice and brown, will Betty’s turkey be-
A proud addition, to the Thanksgiving feast,
for her family.

To purchase one of five copies known, that is showcased

at Springfield’s Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library

and Museum, for all to see.
