I saw with my little eye-
A piece of pumpkin pie.
.
I saw with my little eye-
A piece of chocolate pie.
.
I saw with my little eye-
A piece of mincemeat pie.
.
I saw with my little eye-
A piece of lemon pie.
.
I saw with my little eye-
A piece of pecan pie.
.
I saw with my little eye-
And decided that I could
not make up my mind, as
to which type was my
favorite kind of pie.

I looked out the window and what did I see?
Something orange, oh what could it be?
.
Maybe a pumpkin, or part of a scarecrow?
I looked a bit harder, I just did not know.
.
And, then all of a sudden, the answer came
to me-
It was my Houston Chronicle, wrapped in
orange holiday covering, for the whole
neighborhood to see.

It was obvious that if I put that huge pumpkin, in a special place-
That all of a sudden, with the children around, it would get decorated, and develop a face.
