A mother telling her baby a story-
Is such an enlightening heartwarming thing to see.

They had to start all over again-
Thanks to the big fire and wind.
.
It started in the forest and then it spread-
No one could have know what was up ahead.
.
The brave firefighters and the volunteers worked
so hard-
Trying to put out that fire, trying to stay on guard.
.
For weeks the fire raged, and did not stall-
Taking down complete homes and the trees
that were so tall.
.
Mother Nature had dealt a bad hand-
Striking much and many all throughout
the land.
.
And, then came the day when it was finally
put out-
With tired working souls, and many homeless
without a doubt.
.
They had to start all over again-
Thanks to the big fire and wind.

The old stocking was pulled out once again-
The first time, I saw it, I can remember when.
.
For Mother made it with her hands, ever so busy-
And, when it was finished, it was a glorious sight to see.
.
It began with felt that was so red-
So soft, as she continued ahead.
.
The elves that were put on, had beads for eyes-
The reindeer appeared to be, just the right size.
.
Of course, Santa stood out among the rest-
My Mother created a masterpiece, she passed that test.
.
In the bottom corner was a bit of hay-
Yes, on this stocking, Jesus, was on his way.
.
My name was highlighted on the top-
And, not with just my name, did she stop.
.
It was a bit faded now, but I could see hers too-
I wonder if she knew what this would mean to me,
years later, when she was finally through.
.
The old stocking was pulled out once again-
The first time, I saw it, I can remember when.

There was a boy who walked to school-
Like the rest, of the children, to learn the golden rule.
.
And, the one thing that he remembered most was
what he would get-
Everyday, for lunch, his stepmother fixed him a
syrup drenched biscuit.
.
She could have made him something else, with
a bit, of variety-
But, when he opened his lunch sack, the same
old same is all that he would see.
.
He looked at the other children’s lunches, and
they looked so much more tasty-
Not anything elaborate, but, it was so obvious to see.
.
Had his real mother been alive, time might have been
spent-
Making his lunch, with something different.
.
Throughout his life, he tried to phase the bad
feelings out-
But, as he got older, they took their own in and out route.
.
There was a boy, who walked to school-
Like the rest of the children, to learn the golden rule.
