Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 590 (Going Green)

Trees filled the forest-
All the way through, at best.
.
Then they began to build-
The fate, of the forest was sealed.
.
Home after home came-
And then the forest was never again
the same.
.
Three trees stood, in the aftermath-
Alongside, was a well thought out path.
.
All went well, until someone wanted to
cut the three trees down-
And, then all, of a sudden, much protest
was found.
.
For the three trees tended, to beautify,
the neighborhood-
Standing, tall, as they should.
.
Suddenly, to go green-
Appeared on the scene.
.
Trees filled the forest-
All the way through, at best.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 918 (To Fill That Empty Space)

I Googled an address and found an empty space-

At one time, years ago, it used to be my favorite place.

.

I felt warm at this place, and was always welcome there-

I could be myself, without much care.

.

The folks that resided there, were generous-

No snobbery, no perfect stance, not much fuss.

.

The years passed, and of course, I moved away-

Returning many times, enjoying another sunny day.

.

But more time passed, and to my fear-

It was no longer, it had went into disappear.

.

Both the people and the structure are both gone-

No clothesline pole, no little garden, no flowers, on the lawn.

.

Thank goodness for memories, for I can still step back-

Even though on Google, I face an empty land tract.

.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 739 (Washrags To Boot)

There was a young woman, who didn’t live in a shoe-

But, she had so little money, she didn’t know what to do.

.

At this time, in her life, she couldn’t even afford a wash rag-

A pair of socks, or a cheap handbag.

.

But, as the years went by, she never became a millionaire-

But, financially, though, she did better fare.

.

When her daughter got married she bought her a dozen

washrags-

Ten pairs of socks, and of course, a couple of brand new

handbags.

.

Not much by today’s standards, but, a joy for this old woman-

Who at one time, could afford, none of the above items on hand.

There was a young woman, who did not live in a shoe-

But, she had so little money, she didn’t know what to do.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 881 (No Fuzz Rabbit Ears)

They stood straight and tall-

As a pair, they had their own call.

.

They would work together, as a pair-

They stood grand, without much care.

.

And then they would be moved around

facing front and back, and east and west-

Depending on the situation, depending on

whether or not, they passed the test.

.

Sometimes they would be fashionedly be

dressed in aluminum foil-

For some reason or another, it would perfect

their toil.

.

Without their assistance, the situation could

become dire-

They worked 24/7, they never did tire.

.

But, then came the day, when they had to

be replaced-

Never thought it would happen, but retirement

for them, had to be faced.

.

Technology had caught up with them, and

there was no more use for those rabbit ears-

You know the ones on top, of the TV, that

kept the picture crystal clear, for so many years.

.

They stood straight and tall-

As a pair, they had their own call.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 911 (Hearts On Parade)

The hearts were on parade-

Both chocolate and paper made.

.

A large array, of color-

From the rainbow, as it were.

.

A valentine for you, a valentine for me-

For that is exactly, how it should be.

.

All shapes and sizes, are given out-

And, if you don’t get one, you know that

it is enroute.

.

A day of love, a day of friendship-

A day to also see flowers, and strawberries in

chocolate dip.

.

The hearts were on parade

Both chocolate and paper made.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 910 (Feet First)

As the Mardi Gras trinkets hit the ground-

No hands were readily found.

.

Only feet to claim, the treasure at hand-

You know the stuff that is at the moment, greatly in demand.

.

For if you were to put your hands down-

A big ouchie, might suddenly be found.

.

A stomp here, and a stomp there-

Something that most don’t do well in or fare.

.

The best way to retrieve the trinkets is by the

sheer luck of in the air, or by the feet-

On Mardi Gras day, right there in the street.

.

As the Mardi Gras trinkets hit the ground-

No hands were readily found.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 898 (The Unexpected Mardi Gras Bead)

I saw Granny standing on the side, of the road-

She was at the Mardi Gras parade, and looking to get her a load.

.

The beads were so beautiful, and she did give her best try-

But, for some reason or another, she didn’t get any beads yet,

and didn’t know why.

.

She hollered ‘throw me somethin’ mister’, and that did no good-

She put up her hands, as everyone, at the parade should.

.

She finally gave up and figured that in regards, to any beads,

she would get none-

For she hadn’t acquired one yet, and the parade was about done.

.

She raised her hand up to scratch her head, and out of nowhere-

A gorgeous gold, purple, and green bead wrapped around her pinkie,

right in the midst, of her hair.

.

Granny had finally gotten what she had came for, and she was

so proud-

As she wore her bead, in the midst, of the Mardi Gras crowd.

.
