Would you believe that I have never been camping before? I know that there
are a lot of folks who do it on a regular basis. Just never put forth the effort.
.
The main reason would probably be because of bugs, and strange noises in
the woods. It’s funny when it’s dark, things look so different, than in the
daylight. If a bug is gonna get on me, I at least would like to know what it
was, and how long its’ legs were.
.
One of these old days I might decide to go camping nearby, but it would have
to be in one of their cabins. A roof overhead, walls, and of course air
conditioning. It would be fun to roast wienies and then step back inside.
.
The kids and grandkids decided to camp out in the backyard this weekend.
No tents included. They used the trampoline. It was a nice cool eve, so out
with the supplies they went. Pillows, blankets, toys, flashlights and even a
few snacks.
.
Grandma stayed inside. I guess no matter how old I get I will never have
the desire to sleep outside. As I bid them farewell I enjoyed the peace and
quiet that comes along with the offspring leaving the house and heading to
the backyard.
.
I knew that they would tell ghost stories even if it wasn’t around the
campfire, and then I had to wonder which one of them would retreat
back to the house bug-eyed.
.
Well, the youngest grandson, was the one who wanted to come back
inside. not because he was scared, but he just wanted to come back
inside. I believed him as I tucked him into bed. None of those stories
would have scared him, ha, he was just like his Grandma and didn’t
want to sleep outside.
.
All went well, and the main difference between those outside, and us inside
is that we on the inside woke up dry. Not being avid campers, the bunch
outside forgot about the dew. So that is what those tents are for….keeping
out the bugs and keeping the campers dry. Lesson learned…but I will
continue to sleep inside.

“While camping one can accrue-
The experience of sleeping outside,
scary stories, and a little dew.”
