1. The sun is shining bright.
2. You are sweating.
3. It’s already 85 degrees, and you just woke up.
====================================
Already working up a sweat-
And we haven’t even had breakfast yet.

1. Freshly made taffy.
2. Chewed and spit out gum on a sidewalk.
3. That new planet spotted by European astronomers.

In the right zone for life-
But, uncomfortable enough, to cause much strife.

The summer had been hot and long-
Even as we picked out our favorite summer song.
.
It was time for a change, for sure-
But it was all up to Mother Nature.
.
For she would have to create fallen leaves-
She would have to give reason for us to wear
long sleeves.
.
She would also have to send us some cool air-
To coincide with the trees that would be bare.
.
To take a moment to seize-
To begin to look for sweaters, as we await a
fall season breeze.
.
The summer had been hot and long-
Even as we picked out our favorite summer song.

The weather was just right-
Not too cool, not too hot,
right on site.
.
Short sleeves and shorts-
Was the thing to sport.
.
And, then all of a sudden things
changed-
Somehow or another the weather
was re-arranged.
.
A cool front blew in and the wind
was of great size-
Wasn’t planning for this, it was a
surprise.
.
Luckily, I had that sweater in the car-
That I always keep close, not too far.
.
For it came in handy, on this sudden
cold cold day-
As soon as I felt the chill, I put it on
right away.
.
The weather was just right-
Not too cool, not too hot,
right on site.

The summer was long and hot-
We got used to it, even though we
got tired of it a lot.
.
The drought was upon us, and we
looked for rain-
But, not too much of it, did we gain.
.
The leaves off of the trees began to fall-
Even though near the season of fall, we
were nowhere at t’all.
.
And, so the fall finally did arrive-
In slow motion, not in full drive.
.
As Thanksgiving came-
Things began to change, things
were not the same.
.
The wind blew and howled through
the trees-
An icy wind, not just a cool breeze.
.
We had waited for this long enough-
That long hot summer had been tough.
.
Mother Nature finally decided to give us
a break-
We’re grateful plenty, the cooler weather
we will take.
.
With a warm day in between-
You know more of those will be felt
and seen.
.
The summer was long and hot-
We got used to it, even though
we got tired of it a lot.

1. South America.
2. Death Valley Desert.
3. Mount Nyiragongo, Congo.
=======================
A tourist rebirth-
Of a lava lake, that gushes bright
orange fountains of magma, like
a bleeding wound in the earth.

It is the middle of the summer-
And, the heat appears, to be the main drummer.
.
It beats at a high temperature-
A fan, a swim, or A/C, appears to be the cure.
.
We all know it, for we can of course-
Feel what it emits, in full force.
.
Even at night-
It sticks around, there is not much flight.
.
The sun does serve us well-
Even at times, when it appears to be
in over swell.
.
This too shall pass, as the season of
Fall will cool things down-
In the meantime, much hot heat can
be found.
