Three That Fall Out Of The Sky (2011)

1. Rain.

2. Sleet.

3. Birds.
=======================
And, so they saw-
Over 1000 birds,
fall from the sky,
in Arkansas.

Three Reasons That We Do Not Know What Season It Is (2009)

1. The weather is funny.

2. The leaves do not know whether to
stay on the trees or to drop off.

3. Santa arrives before the turkey is celebrated.
================================
Santa should put his plans on hold-
So that the giving thanks plans can first unfold.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 847 (The Leaves In Fall)

The leaves began to fall-

And, I didn’t mind it at all.

.

For I knew that it was for

a good season-

It was time for the Fall season.

.

And, the weather began as a rule-

To become a much better cool.

.

The wind would pick up a bit-

Under the falling leaves is a good

place to sit.

.

The different colors, of course, are found-

As they gently float, to the ground.

.

To count and hold, to know that there

is much in store-

The summer is over, and the winter

will arrive in a roar.

.

The leaves began to fall-

And, I didn’t mind it at all.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose ( Waiting For A Fall Season Breeze)‏

The summer had been hot and long-

Even as we picked out our favorite summer song.

.

It was time for a change, for sure-

But it was all up to Mother Nature.

.

For she would have to create fallen leaves-

She would have to give reason for us to wear

long sleeves.

.

She would also have to send us some cool air-

To coincide with the trees that would be bare.

.

To take a moment to seize-

To begin to look for sweaters, as we await a

fall season breeze.

.

The summer had been hot and long-

Even as we picked out our favorite summer song.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 393 (Orange In The Breeze)

Orange was abuzz-
As in the fall, it always does.
.
The leaves changed-
From full to bare, the trees
were re-arranged.
.
The breeze turned to wind-
For a while, not to descind.
.
The rakes came out-
And, were put to work, right
away, no doubt.
.

The sweaters did too-
As the chill, blew through.
.

.
Orange was abuzz-
As in the fall, it always does.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose (EMPTY BOWL)

The last time I looked-

The candy bowl was booked.

.

Lots of candy corn, to get to know-

Really and truly about to overflow.

.

And when I looked again, there was no candy to see-

I looked at the bottom, it was all the way empty.

.

How that happened I thought I’d never know-

As my curiosity began to grow.

.

So I filled up the candy bowl once again-

And waited for a while, until the moment when-

.

The children came and ate every last piece-

As a matter of fact, they had one heck of a candy corn feast.

.

Children are like that, as we all know-

And many adults also keep the delicious habit in tow

.

The last time I looked-

The candy bowl was booked.

The Fall Season (2007)

I can feel the full season of Fall in progress now. The pumpkins have come out, and the costumes are being purchased for the grand finale.

As a child, we used to make up our own costumes from materials around the house, and then we’d head out the door, just as soon, as it started to get dark. As long as we were back at a set time, all was well.

We’d go from house to house, and then eventually we’d cover one street after another. Every once in a while, we’d have to hit the same house twice, for they had the real goodies. It wouldn’t take us too long before our bags began to get heavy.

Would you believe that we actually ate whatever was in our bags? We ate it along the route. We ate it after we got home, and then we finished it off, during the few weeks that followed.

There was no stopping us, back in the old days, and no reason to think otherwise. Whether it be a caramel apple, or a homemade popcorn ball, we ate it all.

Nowadays, we have to be more careful with the way that the world has become. Yes, I know that there are a lot of good people in the world. It’s just too bad that we’ve had to change our behavior, because of the the few that aren’t so good.

Having a ten year old daughter, and three grandchildren, I get to enjoy Halloween, I mean aka the Fall season, in a different way. As a child, I used to greatly anticipate that special night. Now I see the same feeling reflected in my little one’s eyes.

It’s their turn now. We head off to the costume shop, and they pick one of their choosing, and then we travel the fall festival circuit. It’s a little different than from the way I used to do it, as a child, but it works.

“Time passes, but from what I summize-
Some things stand still, such as the
enlightenment in childrens’ eyes.”
