The tree stood for many a year-
It’s strength was bright and clear.
.
And, then one day its demise was brought about-
The land had changed due to the drought.
.
The leaves began to get brittle-
To shrink up, until they were little.
.
A drink of water would surely do-
But, Mother Nature did not follow through.
.
The bark began to crack-
Even the animials who lived within
began to take track.
.
Packing up their bags, to a brand new
place-
Time was funning out, this was one
nature race.
.
No more could it stand, there was no more
stall-
The tree with no more strength had to fall.
.
The tree stood for many a year-
It’s strength was bright and clear.

It was time to cut the lawn-
So, I woke up at the break of dawn.
.
But, first I had my choice of picks-
For out in the yard, there were many sticks.
.
And, after they were picked up, I began to mow-
As soon as I passed over it, it continued to grow.
.
Unfortunately, as the season moves along-
Something will not be right, as a matter of fact it will be wrong.
.
For the drought will travel along the ground-
And, many brown patches will be found.
.
It was time to cut the lawn-
So, I woke up at the break of dawn.

The frogs came out-
Even, in the midst, of a drought.
.
There wasn’t just one, it was like
a crowd-
And, oh, my goodness, they did
croak loud.
.
They generally like the rain-
But, there was none on the plain.
.
So, they came out anyway-
They just couldn’t wait another day.
.
To have the will, to make as much
noise, as they could-
In a bush, near a tree, in the wood.
.
The frogs came out-
Even, in the midst, of a drought.

There was a family who moved to the country-
For they wanted to be free of the city.
.
To smell the flowers and roam the wood-
To take advantage, of the country, as best
as they could.
.
To picnic, under the trees-
To sit on the porch, to enjoy the breeze.
.
To have a few pigs, and a cow or two-
To enjoy the stars when the day was through.
.
But about those trees, Mother Nature had
another thought-
And one by one, eventually they were sought.
.
Between the drought and a big hurricane-
The trees began to come down, with less shade
to gain.
.
A few trees and bushes had been replanted, and
they would grow slow-
The family had to adjust, for it was the only way
to go.
.
For some things cannot be controlled, especially
Mother Nature, for sure-
It’s a sad reality, in life, that the trees just did not
endure.
.
There was a family who moved to the country-
For they wanted to be free of the city.

As drought as it may be-
In my front yard, all green is what you
will see.

In Texas it was a bit dry-
So everyone was happy
when the rain passed by.
.
It thundered a bit with a
roar-
It passed by quick, with
a little more emotion in
store.
.
Not no serious rains, but
enough to get the land
wet-
With a bit of drought,
we’d already paid our
debt.
.
In Texas, it was a bit dry-
So everyone was happy,
when the rain passed by.
