As a rule-
Grandmother always kept to her weekday schedule.
.
Early she would wake-
To make breakfast, to plan what else she would bake.
.
And, of course, the beds were made-
Where the night before, tired bodies had laid.
.
Dishes done, and a bit, of dusting too-
Grandmother would be in a hurry, to get it done,
for it to be over and through.
.
For the soap operas would begin, in which a word
she could not miss-
She had her regulars she watched, they were on an
imaginary list.
.
First on radio, then on TV-
It was just the thing, at the time, to do in our
society.
.
As a rule-
Grandmother always kept to her weekday schedule.
