Grandma didn’t want to stop
driving the car-
Even though she didn’t drive
very far.
Just a little trip to the store
and back-
Or to the hamburger place
to get a big mac.
And once a week to church
to pray-
Or to the park, on a sunny
day.
Yes, someone else could
take her, but she wanted
to stay independent-
To drive herself, wherever
she went.
Grandma didn’t want to
stop driving the car-
Even though she didn’t
drive very far.

The plug had to be pulled, without a doubt-
Right after Paul McCartney and Bruce
Springsteen finished “Twist and Shout”.

Back in the old days, thanks to that blue law-
Not much alcohol, was sold before church on
Sundays, at least from what we saw.

1. At church.
2. On the street.
3. At the checkout counter.

Some stores are phasing out the
self checkout-
As they do not provide personal
service, on your way out.
