All it took-
Was to get out that coloring book.

To color the moon-
To color a sand dune.

To color a house-
To color a mouse.
.
To color a bear-
To color a spring fair.
.
To color a sign-
To color and stay in the line.
.
To color a sky-
To color fox sly.
.
To color the whole world-
To color in many a swirl.

Did all this as a young one-

And as an adult, for comfort,

still getting the job done.

As a child, I couldn’t put the book down-

Wherever I was the book would also be found.

Here and there, up and over the bend.

And, when I was finished the moment had to be faced-

The story was over and would have to be replaced.

A scenario that happened over and over again-

And, it’s funny for the same thing is going on today,

as it was way back then.

To outgrow that written word-

In my life, simply is not heard.

A new book, to find-

To simply refresh the mind.
