Tales From The Green Rocking Chair (That Noise)

.

The noise behind me was so loud-
As I was turning, in the midst, of a crowd.
.
It had been raining and the streets were wet-
I was anticipating my destination, but had
not reached it yet.
.
All day long, I had cherished this very moment-
First going to work, with many hours spent.
.
And that time had almost approached, and as
I got ready to turn-
There was apprehension, there was much concern.
.
For the person driving behind me had driven 2 inches
close-
My car’s bumper, could have been his bumper’s host.
.
Why someone would drive that close I have no thought?
I only wish the police had been around, and the driver
had been caught.
.
Felt like harassment to me, and from what I saw-
Was unethical and maybe against the law?
.
My street came up and as I got ready to turn-
It must have made the patience of the person
behind me begin to burn.
.
For as I turned he blew his horn like some emergency-
He couldn’t be stalled for a moment, it would be an autrocity.
.
The horn got louder as I made that turn as quick as I could-
But obviously for the driver behind me it just wasn’t good.
.
He reved up his engine, for he was being inconvenienced,
in the least-
And the horn blowing, even after my turn completed did
not cease.
.
The noise behind me was so loud-
As I was turning, in the midst, of a crowd.

Tales From The Green Rocking Chair (Passing By)

As we drove down the street-

The yards were all nice and neat.

.

But in one driveway, there was something weird-

It affected us, as soon as we passed by, that could be feared.

.

First we couldn’t say a single word-

Between the two of us, not one noise was heard.

.

The unexplainable that was in the driveway was short-

Wearing many clothes coverings it did sport.

.

It fizzed our brains, and as we continued to drive by-

We felt perplexed, and didn’t even know way.

.

As we drover further down the street, it finally let go-

We looked at each other, and what happened we did not know.

.

But one thing for sure is that we quickly looked back-

The thing was gone, and had left not one single track.

.

We know what we felt and what we saw-

For a bit, we were both in awe.

.

Of course, that couldn’t happen, but we both knew it was true-

Just to go on with our lives is about all that we could do.

.

As we drove down the street-

The yards were all nice and neat.

Tales From The Green Rocking Chair (The Owl)

The lady always went for a walk-

She went alone, or with someone

else in which to talk.

.

They’d walk up and down the road at night-

With all of the bright stars, in sight.

.

They talked about this and that-

Sometimes they’d wear a bow or a hat.

.

And of course they’d wear clothes that were white-

So that they could be seen in full sight.

.

Now one night they spotted something in the trees-

It wasn’t moving, just the wind, causing quite a breeze.

.

It had red glowing eyes-

It made the lady’s hair rise.

.

It was an owl that was the size of a man-

The lady had never seen one that big, in this part,

of the land.

.

Nevertheless, she told her walking buddy that it was

time to go in-

Not afterwhile, not later, it had to be immedately then.

.

Quickly they had to go inside, for that owl was

large enough to lift someone grown-

This was an emergency, and this owl had set the

tone.

.

So they started walking backwards, as fast as they

could-

To not disturb the owl, that was sitting on the limb,

to keep moving, they would.

.

Had the owl fluttered just one little feather, the ladies

would have had a heart attack-

Thank goodness they made it inside, with all of

their nerves intact.

.

The huge owl was never again to be seen-

When the ladies went for a walk, it never again

appeared on the scene.

.

The lady always went for a walk-

She went alone, or with someone

else in which to talk.
