Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose (Dance)

Just by chance

“So You Think You Can Dance”.

.

“Dance Moms” around the world-

Gave it their best swirl.

.

It has always been that way-

From way back when to the modern day.

.

Much talent did we happen to see-

On “The Arthur Murray Party”.

.

With bubbles floating on the dance floor-

“Lawrence Welk” presented much dance to the core.

.

“American Bandstand” gave us many new moves-

We danced through many types of music and stayed in the groove.

.

Through the years all the same-

As we involved ourselves in “Club MTV” and “Fame”.

.

But as it were-

These were humans in full motion stir.

.

Nature also has it own dancing spin-

Simply called the Red-capped Manakin.

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 756 (The Unshared Lottery Ticket)

Three by M.E./Rhymes of the Times

We cooked the burgers, together, on a slow day-

We cooked the fries, on a busy day,

in the same manner, in the same way.

.

We mopped the floors each and every night-

We made sure the dining room was cleaned just right.

.

We cried on each shoulders, when things went bad-

We smiled and laughed, when there was reason to be glad.

.

We swapped our days, when there was good reason-

We shared our thoughts, from season to season.

.

So much shared, as regular employees do-

We shared it all, on the good and bad days, in order

to get through.

.

Every week as a team, we would all get-

A batch of shared lottery tickets.

.

We’d all dream about our chance to win-

And, even when we lost, well, we’d still think

about it now and then.

.

It looks like this…

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 402 (Those Phone Books)

Three by M.E./Rhymes of the Times

To find someone, we used to go-
To that phone book, that we all
happened to know.
.
It had the names and numbers
of our friends around town-
It had the lists of businesses,
that were also found.
.
It was always by the telephone, for
us to use-
It got thicker and thicker, making
it impossible to lose.
.
They said that we used our fingers
to do the walking-
And, we still do, in order to keep
up with our non-stop talking.
.
But, in a different form, for many of
use our fingers, the same, still to
find-
But, instead of opening a book, we
tend to go online.
.
It is said that the paper telephone book
is going away-
Still, it would be nice to have one, for a
rainy day.
.
To find someone, we used to go-
To that phone book, that…

Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 155 (Bonanza)

Three by M.E./Rhymes of the Times

Bonanza is the show that
we loved to watch and see-
That ran on the air from 1959
to 1973.

On the Ponderosa Ranch was
Ben who had three sons-
Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe
were the ones.

Each week was an interesting
story on hand-
That was watched by many
throughout the land.

A good ending is usually what
was had-
With justice being handed to
anyone that happened to be
bad.

Bonanza is the show that
we loved to watch and see-
That ran on the air from 1959
to 1973, and in re-run, will
continue to be.

Children love to play in the snow-

But sometimes it interferes with

our education when to school,

we don’t get to go.
