Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose (Goodbye Howie)

As I watch the grass cover your grave-
I know that I have many memories to save.

The mornings when I would call out
your name-
And you would quack back at me all the
same.

You loved me it was clear-
As you pecked my legs when I came near.

Breakfast was always so much fun-
Done at the same time I got my laundry done.

And now in the mornings it is quiet and
I hear no noise-
From one of my favorite feathered boys.

Goodbye Howie the years were plenty-
I know that in duck Heaven you must be.

As I watch the grass cover your grave-
I know that I have many memories to save.
