The cupcakes were in the oven-
As I checked them over and over again.
.
And, to no surprise-
They gently began to rise.
.
There were two dozen, all in a row-
Chocolate ones, about to be in tow.
.
To the table, for a cool-
That is always been a rule.
.
To later ice, and decorate-
To highlight, the occasion, as of late.
.
The main ingredient, is the children
who will take delight-
In choosing which one they want,
and enjoying each and every bite.
.
The cupcakes were in the oven-
As I checked them over and over again.
