Modern Mother Goose-On The Loose # 330 (Little Town Gone)

The little town-
That once was, is
no longer around.
.

.
The people came,
and made a life-
It was not all easy,
for part of it, bore
strife.
.

.
But, a foundation
was made-
And the surroundings
of their lives, were laid.
.

.
Some trees came down,
and to the sawmill, they
went-
Lots of time working in
the forest, was readily
spent.
.
.
A general store, a church
to attend-
A little school, in which to
learn, over the bend.
.

.
A little town, in which to be
proud-
Until one day, its’ demise
came, due to a simple
population crowd.
.

.
The bigger towns took over
the little ones, and then
they were no longer-
So much history swallowed
up, that begs to be allowed
to be heard so much the
stronger.
.

.
The little town-
That once was, is
no longer around.
