It was a fine day, in September-
And, I hadn’t laughed so hard, as far as I could remember.
.
I was playing with the grandson, and wanted to introduce
him to something new-
For to experience new things is what he really likes to do.
.
I spotted the backscratcher, and he immediately got a grip-
As tight as one can get, and then he eyed the thing, as
if he were on a trip.
.
He looked way up, and I knew that he wanted to put it in
his mouth-
And, then he did the same thing, as he continued to look
south.
.
The gaze of his eyes were just as funny as they could be-
If I thought that I was gonna get this thing back, well I
must have been crazy.
.
Tears were running down my face, from laughter of
course-
As he continued to hold, onto the backscratcher, in
full force.
.
He finally let go, but, I have to say-
That was one extraordinary, funny day.
.
It was a fine day in September-
And, I hadn’t laughed so hard, as far as I could remember.
